Donate Frequent Flier Miles
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Tri-Counties is asking individuals to donate frequent flier miles, which will be redeemed for tickets used solely for the purpose of sending children and their families on an unforgettable vacation they will cherish for a lifetime. Each year the foundation needs 12 million miles but only receives 2 million frequent flyer miles donated. The remaining miles are purchased, making airline tickets the most avoidable expense for the Foundation.
To donate miles please call (805) 676-9474 x0. We will need your name, address, phone, the airlines, the account number and for Continental, a PIN number. Tell us how many miles you want to donate and we will process the request. The IRS recognizes award points and miles as a gift or an award from the corporation to the individual. Therefore, points and Frequent Flier miles donated to charity are not considered tax deductible.
