Becca Solodon's Wish
17-year-old Becca surprised the crowd with her talent when she opened for Mariah Carey at the Arlington Theatre last year. It is even more astounding to learn that, just six weeks before this memorable event, the teen had undergone surgery to have the lower part of her leg amputated as an attempt to spare her life from the grip of cancer.

When volunteers with the Make-A-Wish Foundation met with Jackson, this 11 year-old from San Luis Obispo had a very specific request- He wanted to receive a violin with a bow, a case and a very particular sound. Jackson said, “When I play the violin I feel like I forget about my sickness. I want a violin with a low sound. I love the way I sound when I play it.”

Every time my husband Neil and I see a train, we immediately think of Will,” Ginny Heaton said. “Will just absolutely loved trains. I remember him saying once that he wanted to drive a train even before he was born.” Life for the Heatons changed when their vibrant seven-year-old train aficionado had to quit school and all the fun of playing with the animals on the family’s farm, to focus on fighting an extremely rare form of leukemia.
