Wishes are the cornerstone the Make-A-Wish Foundation® is founded on and we look forward to seeing every wish come true. Wishes can be small or large, simple or elaborate, but that are all important.

“I wish to drive a train.”
Will, Age
"Every time my husband Neil and I see a train, we immediately think of Will," Ginny Heaton said. "Will just absolutely loved trains. I remember him saying once that he wanted to drive a train even before he was born." Life for the Heatons changed when their vibrant seven-year-old train aficionado had to quit school and all the fun of playing with the animals on the family's farm, to focus on fighting an extremely rare form of leukemia. "Doctors said Will's situation is seen only in 1% of the cases," Ginny added. “I wish to have a turtle santuary bedroom.”
Sophie, Age 7
It is clear now that nothing makes Sophie come out of her shell like the sight of a turtle. Her fascination with these strange creatures began early in life and so did her diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In fact, Sophie was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® at age 2 1/2, our youngest eligible age, but her family decided to wait until she was older for her to wish. “I wish to experience 'Cowboy Camp'”
Cole, Age 3
Many parents learn about the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the medical professionals treating their ailing children, but 3-year-old Cole's parents supported our cause in their community long before they knew their youngest child would eventually become a wish recipient. Ten years ago, before coming to Simi Valley from the Midwest, Ginia and Mike Goggio volunteered as wish granters. Ginia also served on the Board of Directors of the Iowa chapter.
